At the foot of the Rwenzori mountains in southwest Uganda, a family home is perched on the edge of this dramatic landscape. I stumbled across this moment of stillness whilst driving along a rural dirt road with some colleagues doing development work in the region, hours away from the nearest cell phone signal. What shocked me the most was not just the incredible scale of these hillside vistas, but the thought that daily life in such an extreme level of remoteness was completely normal and mundane to the people in this village.
